The 5 types of cryptocurrency wallets

Are you investing cryptocurrencies but unfortunately it got different types of wallets?

There several types of crypto wallets like desktop , mobile , hardware , online & paper.
The most secure in my opinion for investors who are not good with technology are the hardware. That type is very secure and this makes you to not need to worry with security matters. The only thing you have to be responsible is to not loose your wallet.

So let’s start.

1) Desktop

Desktop wallets are downloadable softwares. You download the software and you install it on your computer. The only issue in those types of wallets is that if your computer for a reason get hacked then you are on big trouble. Also the other issue is that every coin use different software so imagine if you have 20 different coins. You will need to setup 20 different wallet types.

2) Online

That type me personally, I don’t recommend them. Those wallets are offering by crypto exchanges. I am not trust them only for a reason. Of course it got some very famous brokers which are good and the storing of the cryptocurrencies are excellent. What will happen if something happen to the broker in terms of hack or close? One of the most ”secure” is Coinbase

3) Smartphone

Smartphone logic is the same with Desktop wallets. You need to install wallets application and that’s it. The risk of get hacked is lower but to lost your mobile or something happens is always exist. Also the transaction is very simple

4) Print-Paper wallets

For me that is the best solution and that is the way that I store my crypto currencies. When you create a wallet you have the ability to print your private and public keys. The only disadvantage of this type of wallets is that you need to be organized to not lost your papers and save them in a good place in your home. You don’t need to scare about hacking or anything

5) Hardware wallets

The hardware type of wallets for me is the best solution in terms of technology and compare to Desktop or Smartphone Wallets. Hardware wallets are usb sticks which with a very easy way you have access to all the wallets. You do not need to install any new software. The only negative here is to lost your hardware USB stick.

The next table shows some of the most famous hardware sticks.
