Binance, the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, is reportedly considering a partnership with Ripple’s cross-border payment platform xRapid. Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, revealed the company’s plans for the future in a live stream on Periscope on February 6.
Zhao’s first ever live stream attracted many viewers, to whom he revealed that Binance is “definitely” looking to partner with Ripple. XRP, the company’s native cryptocurrency, is currently the largest altcoin in the world and with a market cap of over $40 billion, has already exceeded Ethereum.
However, Zhao did make it clear that Binance is currently working on new projects and that partnering with Ripple isn’t on its agenda in the foreseeable future.
“We’re focused on launching more features right now, so we are working with a number of other partners. With xRapid, there’s nothing going on right now, but in the future, we’ll definitely want to add them as a partner,” he said in his live stream.
