Coinbase, one of the largest US-based crypto exchanges and wallet providers, will now enable users based in the European Union to make fiat withdrawals to PayPal. The company broke the news in a blog post on February 5, adding to its ever-growing list of services.
Support for PayPal withdrawals was first launched for residents of the United States back in January. After the initial success of the service, Coinbase expanded the service to apply to residents living in the EU. According to the company’s blog post, users living n European Free Trade Association countries – Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland – will also be able to use the new service.
Enabling fiat withdrawals to PayPal is part of Coinbase’s larger plan to diversify its crypto support and fiat gateways. The company originally integrated support for PayPal back in 2016 but was forced to terminate the service within several weeks due to technical difficulties.
