Kik and Kin settle on Stellar

Kik the popular messenger app creators have decided to completely abandon the Ethereum blockchain and develop their cryptocurrency Kin on a fork of Stellar instead. While Kin was launched initially on Ethereum network, scaling issues made the company research for an alternative. That alternative was found in Stellar and for a while both chains were used, ethereum for security and stellar for the speed.

However Kik determined that they wanted even less fees than the already low ones of stellar and they forked stellar to eliminate those completely. As a result Kin is going to break away entirely from the ethereum chain and users that already have tokens will be offered the opportunity to move their tokens over in a one way move to the kin block chain, burning the ERC-20 ones while this happens.

Kik is actively pushing more mobile products for users to use and gain kin and at the same time arrangements are made with exchanges to help current users smoothly make the transition to the Kin blockchain without any deadline and at their own time.

  1. Its like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with some pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is excellent blog. A great read. I will certainly be back.
